Theosis and the Hope of Christian Mysticism
What do you hope for, what is the destination of Christian Faith? Going to heaven? Or going into God? Since the earliest days of the church, Christian hope has embraced a possibility bigger and more mysterious than ever conceived in other faith traditions, that we are not merely saved by God, but invited into God’s own life and being. How this hope is articulated, developed, and applied by Christian mystics and scholars down through the centuries will be the topic for this course. Along the way we will introduce you to the treasures of the Christian mystical tradition.
